The Ein Prat Fountainheads, a group of Jewish musicians, dancers, singers, and other creative souls who all graduated from the Ein Prat Academy, produced a Rosh Hashanah parody on the apples and honey theme of this sweet time of year.

Apples and honey, or sometimes challah bread and honey, are a common Jewish tradition on Rosh Hashanah, the first day of the new year as we bless one another in hope the new year will bring much sweetness and happiness for ourselves and our loved ones. Honey cakes, pomegranates and round raisin loaves made from challah are other traditional foods commonplace to this time of year.

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, borei p’ri ha-eitz.

We praise You, Eternal God, Sovereign of the Universe, Creator of the fruit of the tree.

Y’hi ratzon milfanecha, Adonai Eloheinu v’Elohei avoteinu v’imoteinu, shetchadesh aleinu shanah tovah um’tukah.

May it be Your will, Eternal our God, that this be a good and sweet year for us.

“The Law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul…sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:7, 10
