Anti-Semitism and Christianity

Anti-Semitism and Christianity

Christian anti-Semitism, oh boy…where do I even start regarding this foolishness.

There are lots of foolish things on the earth but this problem is one of the hardest to believe. I mean seriously, what other religion on earth believes that God took the form of an Israeli Jewish Rabbi, that the next life includes a glamorous New Jerusalem decorated with  the  names of the Twelve Tribe of Israel and yet have people  who claim to believe this who also hold anti-Semitic views?

This is the sort of thing that happens when people don’t read the Bible for themselves and just repeat what they have been told. As unfortunately many professing Christians don’t pay attention to their own Bible. Now I am not saying all Christians are anti-Semitic many aren’t but even then there are perceptions that some Christians traditionally hold that are unconsciously influenced by it. One of those believes included the distorted view that the Jews rejected Jesus (Yeshua) and God rejected them completely ignoring the fact that he and the most of his believers where Jews as well-at first anyway.

And Jesus himself said, “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.” John 4:22 If you want the salvation of God you must recognize that as a Christian you must believe in the God of the Jews according to your own Bible. “I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says…?...For I speak to you Gentiles… For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches.  But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, ‘Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.’ Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.” Romans 11:1-21

Biblical Christianity (not the modern tradition based or Westernized Christianity we may be familiar with) was originally considered and should still be considered a branch of Judaism.  Christians didn’t consider themselves anything other than Jewish, even Gentile converts to Christianity were considered to be “grafted in to the faith” of the Jews, not a completely new religion. So please, don’t fall for some ignorant pastor’s comments and say stupid things about Jewish people. And by the way, replacement theology-the concept that the church replaced Israel-is not Biblical.

Yes the New Testament  says, “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” Romans 2:28-29 but this is misunderstood because people don’t know the context of scripture and what was already said in the Old Testament “…if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember; I will remember the land.” Leviticus 26:41-42

God’s covenant with Israel was always based on the heart rather than appearance, that is not an New Testament concept that means physical Jews are no longer Jews, that was a quote based on the Torah regarding what makes someone a good Jew and Biblically believers in Yeshua (Jesus) still considered themselves Jewish so hating Jews make no sense.
